“So you wanted a fight did you? Witch!” The strange voice yelled as Isis wiped the pouring blood from her lips, with the back of her hand and laughed menacingly. “I think it’s time we put you out of your misery, don’t you?” Isis cackled.

My son sean hasd come up with a novel idea.

Lily closed her eyes as blood filled her mouth, and she found she couldn’t breathe. When she was sure she going to die she suddenly heard Emily as she pushed forward, pushing all the other voices away, in her still mind she whispered, and with her ragged breath Lily repeated,

“Ish Nat Tish colt tom.” Mumbling the words weakly she held up her wavering hand toward Isis.

Even though she couldn’t open her eyes, swollen and half shut from injury, she heard Isis’ ear splitting scream and she tried to open her eyes as much as she could. Lily saw Isis propel across the room smashing into the wall.

“Go!” The voices in Lily’s head shouted. As Isis sprang up and was on her feet in an instant, her black eyes fixed firmly on Lily.

Mumbling the transport spell, she flashed from the horror and destruction of the room and landed with a painful thud outside the main gate.

As she felt the harsh coldness of the tarmac pressed against her swollen cheek, Lily heard Isis scream inside the house.

Bleeding, unable to move, she whispered with a ragged breath,

   “Home…” Praying she would transport.
As Lily felt her consciousness ebbing away

Lillian De Deveron

“Are they asleep?” Carne asked as Lily walked into the room.

“Yes, sorry I read them a story and then Coral wanted to chat.” Lily replied sitting down next to him on the sofa.

“Everybody wants to chat, ask me how I am, where I’ve been, how I feel…” Lily remarked, thinking back to all the phone calls she had had since coming home a few days ago.

“Hmmm.” Lily said snuggling into Carnes shoulder.

“You’re just popular.” He laughed, “Are you tired?” He continued, flicking through the TV channels.

“Yes, but I’m also comfy.” She snuggled deeper into Carnes chest as he hung his arm around her and rubbed her elbow as they watched TV as Lily tried to relax and push the worries away but it was harder than it seemed. She felt on edge.

Just as she was starting to feel like she was drifting of safely in Carne’s arms a servant knocked on the door.

“Sorry to disturb you Sir, but there’s an urgent phone call.”

“Who is it?” He glanced at his watch.

“It’s very late.”

“It’s the hospital Sir.” The woman said, her voice sounding a little concerned. Lily sat wearily up as Carne rose, she could feel her heart flutter, why would the hospital be ringing, Lily sat up right as Carne took the phone form the woman’s hand.

“Hello, Lord De Deveron here.” He looked over at Lily as he spoke,

“Yes, she is my wife…Yes…Next of kin, I don’t understand…” Carne looked shocked suddenly paler and she could feel the worry shake him, was it her dad? No she had just seen him, he seemed fine, was it the stress of losing her? Maybe he wasn’t fine.

“Carne.” Lily called out softly.

“Hold on.” Carne spoke into the phone, “I’ll get her.” He held the phone in his hand; Lily noted the worry etched on his face.

“Lillian it’s the hospital, the intensive care unit…” Lily transported to Carne’s side too scared to ask, to know nervously she took the phone from his hand.

“Hello?” Lily felt the rising fear rush to the surface, which had only just, began to settle.

“Sorry to ring Ms De Deveron, but I am a nurse in the ITU at Amber Brook Hospital and you have been listed as next of kin for a…Mr Worthington.” The nurse paused and she gasped loudly as panic rushed in.

“Logan!” She murmured looking up at Carnes eyes.

“Yes…A Mr Logan Worthington.”

“What’s happened?” Lily asked her voice braking; Carne reached out his hand offering some comfort holding Lily’s hand as she listened to the information.

“I’m afraid there was a serious car crash this afternoon and Mr Worthington was treated at the scene by paramedics and attending doctors until he was stable enough to move. He was then brought in to us here at ICU. The doctors are concerned about the extent of his injuries and have asked me to ring you as a matter of urgency, to see if possible could you please come in now.”

“Okay.” Lily answered numbly.

“Is he going to be ok?”

“As I said, his injuries are severe and the doctor has suggested you spend as much time as possible with him.” The nurse added bluntly.

“Right…” She felt her body shake, as he wrapped his arm around her shoulder.

“I’m coming.” She said weakly hanging up the phone.

“Lily what is it?” Carne asked.

“Logan…” Lily started her mind shocked.

“He’s had an accident.” She paused, the facts, the panic now hitting home.

“He might die!” She turned and held on to Carnes body, the tears flowing.

“Logan…” She cried her heart tearing.
